Fint’s DIN rail mounted protocol converters make HART and Modbus RTU transmitters communicate in a Profibus DP or Profibus PA network. The converters support Profibus PA profile 3.02 and NAMUR NE 107 diagnostics. The devices act as Modbus/HART Masters and Profibus Slaves. Operation range is -40 C to 85 C.
You may connect up to 4 Modbus RTU/HART Slave instruments to each converter
Fint’s embedded protocol converter boards are designed for interfacing Modbus RTU and HART transmitters to a PROFIbus PA network. For the Modbus version, there are options for using RS485, RS232 or pure CMOS UART communication. The module reads up to four dynamic variables, the Primary Variables (PVs), from the instrument and converts these to dynamic variables on Profibus. Four Function Blocks are supported, each consisting of up to 32 bytes can be transferred in the cyclic frame. The software conforms to the PROFIbus PA 3.01 profile. Standard profile gsd files are used for communication purposes. If you need more functionality or a special lay-out, Fint’s design team doe the customization according to your particular specifications.
Fint’s development team has more than 20 years experience designing Profibus DP and Profibus PA converters. Fint is a registered Center of Excellence for Profibus PA and our 3.02 solution has been certified according to Profibus International test suits. We develop DDs, FDIs and DTMs and customize our hardware and software solutions to your specific requirements. We do precompliance testing and assist with EMC, ATEX and SIL certification. We also offer training courses adapted to customers’ need.
